PMp Certified (July 7th)

All,

I am a silent observer of this forum for the last 2 months. Today I gave my PMP exam and cleared it witrh 2 P and 3 MP. The LL shared by other PMP's were very valuable to me and so I wanted to give it back.

2P and 3MP.

Preparation Time: 8 weeks, I became a PMI member last sep, but got busy with work till June. I received an membership expire email which triggered me. I went through PMBOK once and Rita's once before I booked my slot.

Exams: Oliver Lehmann 175 Q

PMPerfect (membership, all exams)all exams were around 85%

PMStudy (free exam) scored 82%, close to the real exam.

Headfirst PMP

My exam was at 1PM at prometric, reached there by 12:30, started the exam at 1PM after the formalities.

The questions were not overly complex. I would recommend reading each line of PMBOk atleast thrice and no other book is  really required. Some 10-12 questions are straight ITTO's and most of them are PMBOK concept application questions. Dont get bogged down by some 5% questions which will take you by surprise.

I went through all the 200 questions in around 2:15 and marked questions for review even if I had a minor doubt. I marked around 65-70 questions and revisited them again. I unmarked questions which I was confident and went through the marked questions and spent time on them in the 3rd pass.  By this time I had only 5 mins left and clicked end exam, went through the survey questions and was thrilled to see the Pass appear on screen.

Congratulations.

Achieving PMP in merely 8weeks is no joke Sir. Brilliant.
