Inputs and Outputs

I am studying for my PMP,

I've seem to mastered the ITTO, but what is a good way to master the in and outputs of processes?

There are so many...is it possible?

Also, I didn't pass the exam the first time...my job is depending on me getting my PMP.

I believe I struggled with the situational questions...is there a method for tackling these questions?

I've given Rita's Fast Track some thought and don't believe I'm going to purchase. It would be no use for me to take her Mock tests more than once as I have photographic memory and would memorize the answers.

I don't want to pay $300 for a couple of mock tests.

Are there any other good mock tests that will test you on processes and not just knowledge areas?

PMSTUDY's 1st test only measures your knowledge in knowledge areas, not processes.

Thanks!

 Hi

I would advise you to check the Brainbok flashcards, Quiz and mock exam to test your ITTO knowledge. Keep on visiting ITTO's daily from PMBOK for all knowledge areas (ITTO's are at the beginning of each KA chapter's). You will start realizing the logical flow and inter-relationship among them. No memorisation required.

Below are some tips on approaching to situational questions. As you progress with the prep and mock exams, it may happen that below steps you will follow subtly in back of mind.

1: Filter noise / surplus information and capture the crux of the question

2: Read all answers (top to bottom / bottom to top)  and apply law of elimination / rule out obviously wrong answers (mostly 2 are obviously wrong)

3: Shortlist potential correct answers (mostly 2 appears good / correct answers and one is best for the situation)

4: Put yourself as a PM in the situation and apply each answer to the context

5: Benchmark actions / remedies against the processes and knowledge areas  (see PMBOK page 43)

6: Keep a hawk eye on the keywords / terms such as BEST, SECOND BEST, NEXT,NOT,EXCEPT,LAST used in the question (read last chapter from Rita's book)

keep us posted how it goes.

Thank you so much!!

I will use these tips durning my study and exam. I've already read Rita's 7th edition book and PMBOK Guide.

I'm planning on taking the test in a few weeks. So I will heavily use this time on ITTOs, Glossary, Processes and Mock tests.

Thanks again,

Brittany
