Passed PMP - My Lesson learnt

Hello PMZilla forum members,

I successfully passed the PMP exam yesterday. I started studying last year in March and because of some reason lost focus. This year by May I was ready to take the exam.

I am happy that I passed the PMP exam 2P3MP. The exam is very straight forward and easy if you read the questions carefully. I think I over studied.  I prepared for 4 months and did a lot sample questions. I did feel heart beat a lot when exam finished and computer was calculating score.
Reference Materials used by me are as follows:
1. PMBOK Guide 4TH edition
2. Rita Mulchay, 6TH edition.
3. Head First PMP.
4. How to Pass PMP, Andy Crowe.

Mock test used by me are as follows:
1. PMZilla Tough Questions: 62%
2. Pmpforsure: 10-Test: 75%
3. PMSTUDY (Free) - 78%
4. Headfirst: First try 78% Second try: 92%
5. Roadtrip: 84%
6. Oliver Lehmann: 74%
7. Chapter Test Rita: 76%
8. Chapter Test Kim Heldman: 76%

The advice I can give here is you don't need study too much and try to get perfect, read PMBOK many times you can. I didn't sleep well that night. Anyway, I am very happy I passed the exam in my first try!

So guys…all the very best those who are aspiring for exam.

Thanks
Raghu, PMP

Congrats Raghu on getting the PMP.

Good, short and crisp LLs.

 Hi colleagues,

I also passed the exam today and I'd like to know when is that the my.pmi.org gets updated because I left the prometric testing center with the written report of the test but I still didnt get any email and trying to consult the report online, it only says the same as before of taking the test.

As of lessons learnt , I'm not a good example of optimal minimum study because I studied a masters in proj. mgmt for the last 2 years so this exam didnt have any major difficulty at all. In spite of this I got MP (average) in all knowledge areas. So nothing bad but nothing remarkable either.

i just would recommend to read the PMBOK and the Rita's book hand in hand.

Im writing on an iPad and it sucks. Sorrynfor the grammar and spelling maybe. :)

Hey,

It takes 2-3 days to get updated on pmi.org. In my case, it took 3 days.

To receive the Certificate it takes 4-6 weeks.

I got the status updated and email exactly after 25 hours.
