My Test Scores & Recommendation on PMStudy Test

Hello All,

I have beem preparing for PMP seriously since last 1.5 months and I am now 1 week away from my actual test. So far I have attempted HeadFirst- 84.5%, Oliver 75 questions- 70% Oliver 175 questions 70%, PMStudy Free test 200 questions-77.14%, RITA chapter End test scored between 70%-75%.

For this particular week I will again read RITA and PMBOK End to End and I am planning to attempt a few more test. I just wanted to inquire about the PM Study Paid test. Is the language and quality of the PMStudy paid test is same as of the Free Test? I found PM Study free test to have PMBOK language completly and if this is the case with paid test as well I might drop my plan to purchase paid test. Suggestions required.

Pls comment on the quality of the questions from

Hi Shamir,

I do not see any need for you to buy any more test and practice as I see you have tried some of the best recommended material Rita, Headfirst, Oliver etc and secured good i.e. 70% or above.

PMStudy paid would be close to the FREE one you have tried. When you say the language you have noticed is close to PMBOK or even if you say some common questions reworded or similar….I would completely agree. All the test you have said will have some similarity because they have common goal i.e. PMP and while framing the questions they refer the same good books especially PMBOK and references.

Think other way, what is your goal…….I guess passing PMP exam, right? Many PMP questions would also be line copy from PMBOK…some way or the other. If you read people success story for PMP you will find many people saying this line…”Every PMBOK line is a potential PMP questions”. If you have made your mind to just solve tough tricky questions….come out of it. To pass PMP you have to practice all type of questions and make your mind to accept the same. As per my experience only 25-30% on PMP questions would be tricky one, others would be simple situational and simple IITO based. Such mock test providers say very clearly that they are last moment PMP Mock Drill Providers (Just for last moment practice) and you have to take it that way i.e. don’t apply your brain to learn from their questions.

I have put on my views, its your call now. All the best!

Saket, PMP

Thanks Saket!  I find your comments quite reasonable and logical. I was either not very much interested to buy the paid test but wanted to take second opinion. I will re-read the PMBOK the next week and to be inorder to remain in PMP frame of mind I might try some free mock if time permits.

Thanks Again!
