I failed Twice, Last chance, Need Help

I just made my ID for this site and looks like very useful website. I appeared first time for PMP exam on Aug 30, 2011 a day before changes to PMP exam. I was somewhat prepared for that exam. I could not pass and got one process group below proficient. I finished this exam in 4 hours but next time I prepared more and appeared in Oct 2011 but I got worst result as compared to first attempt. In 2nd attempt I failed in 2 areas below proficient. In 2nd exam I felt that I am running out of time and at the end I could not finish all questions. I study Rita mainly and did some Mock exams on PM fast track 6 and I scored more than 70% in that PM fast track before my 2nd attempt in Oct 2011. I am having difficulty to finish exam on time and what I should do to pass this time. I have date set for this exam on May 11, 2012

If Time is your issue, Select good number of free Mock tests and every day write atleast one mock and take 2 or 3 paid mock tests - keep track of time, devide exam in rounds, in first round just answer easiest questions as early as possible, putting rest in marked, immediately take up medium complex ones like with EVM/Network diagrams, next take up lengthy situational ones, there also if you can't figure out, read last sentence or 4 answers, that may give an hint.

But please be prepared for concepts of all ITTO's.

All the best

Thanks

Hi rasaeed - I agree to kghebbar. You have failed 2 times and you know now the best how real PMP exam is and why you lack.

Rita material is excellent but it might not have helped you....it happens, what is BEST might not be good for everyone. I would say, don’t hurry now, you have 400 questions experiences, expand your learning areas and also check other options. I have these in my list.

I would suggest, make a plan...say 3 months plan. See what people in this forum says, what they referred, what all they tried. Use your own experience to judge what is best for you, include those in your plan. Once the plan is ready, do not listen to anyone then, just stick to your plan. I would recommend you read books again, and you must read PMBOK 3 times now. Attempt about 2000+ questions. Most of them you can get free if you search or buy 1-2 based upon your discretion. PMP exam has mix type questions so make sure you practice mix questions and not just the tricky ones.

Just to send 2 persons on moon over 30 people died in experiments in Moon mission. Passing and failing is part of life, it can happen with anyone. Life itself is risk, whether you will live tomorrow or not….you don’t even know this. Learn to accept failure and make lesson learnt. Challenge the failure, how long a failure can dominate if you challenge it. Some day it will loose and you will succeed.

Read the book “E M Goldratt - The Goal”, I can promise you it will make a difference in you.

 Thanks a lot
