Newbie Question-PMI Membership before PMP applicastion

Forgive me if this a silly question.


I want to get the PMI Membership but I'm not ready with my PMP application yet.


Can i apply for the PMP membership now and on a later day register for the PMP exam.


Will i get the membership discount if the membership and application are done on different days. Also are there are other cons to registering for them on separate days

Yes you can apply for PMI membership  first and then apply for application.


I became PMI member first and after 3 week filed my Applcation. yes you will get the discount :)

So that PMI membership will remain active for how long ? and once we submit the application, what time frame in between we need the write the papers. ?

Your Membership will remain active one year. and you can write the exam from the date your application get approved by PMI till one year.I think that answers your question
