Passed the pmp exam

So today i passed the pmp exam .. and its contribution time

Must do- this is what worked for me

- i referred to andy crowe as my first book. pls purchase the book, on purchase you get a one week free trial to their site, which includes classroom sessions and practice exams. These classroom sessions helped me to bridge the gap on some key topics like risk and quality a few days before the exam. The exams were good practice too

- do refer to rita and PMBOK- the PMBOK diagrammatic illustrations are very good. Make your own notes - these really help in the last few days

- do use rita as your main body of teaching. Rita prepares you for tougher questions and style of thinking, so when you actually sit for the exam, you appear more at ease with the questions thrown out at you. some chapters are very comprehensive such as procurement and risk

- headfirst is excellent for clearing the air on concepts that you are not familiar with . EMV & critical path calculations in headfirst is explained superbly well

- Last 2 days don’t take any mock test. just use the time to revise concepts

- take th ePM study mock test, it is the closest to the actual exam

- last but not the least- don’t underestimate the force of the universe - i kept visualizing 'congratulations" on my screen, my BB status update:) , me buying sweets for the family.. Just believe you have passed !!

- pls eat well just before the exam .. there are no snack breaks you can take in Mumbai centre. For someone like me who eats every 2 hours it could be quite a challenge J

What not to do-

- don’t take too many mock test, doesn’t solve any purpose also preferably i think ritas SuperPM fom Ritas software is too tough and can be a de motivator esp if taken just before the exam.

Overall i must admit , the exam was not as tough as it is made out to be. Not as many "wordy" qs are asked and many were an easy choice among the 4

Thats it for me! Best of luck guys, lets keep adding to our community !

Did you try all the PM study mock tests.

Congratulations on your PMP. I agree you should take optimum number of mock tests

Regards

I completely agree, and honestly I am second timer. The problem is people are either giving you too low grade questions or some claim too tough question. Both of these types that are available in majority are actually wrong as it gives you false interpretations of the PMP exam. Look for something that is similar to the PMP questions.

Before second time I just tried this

and passed. I agree now, poor quality, too tough questions and too much of practice was cause of my failure. If you fail in PMP you have huge loss of money, I know it better :)
