Configration Managment Plan Query

Hi Everyone,

I am prepraring for PMP and unable to understand the concept behined configration managment  plan.

Can somebody give an example what is configration managment plan and why we need it?

The Configuration Management Plan  documents what configuration management activities are to be done, how they are to be done, who is responsible for doing specific activities, when they are to happen, and what resources are required.
