Passed the pmp exam on March 2nd.

 Hi all

Just passed the exam yesterday and feel more relaxed now.

I studied for 5 weeks. Covered the pmbok book 3 times, rita's book, 3 times and went over about 1000 sample tests. Did not take any preparation class.

What i can recommend is do not over do the preparation. As you know about law of diminishing returns, if you study too much you do not gain more knowledge. I booked the exam only 3 days before my intention to take it. The fact is, once you feel comfortable with the topics, just take the exam. Do not procrastinate, hoping you learn more by reading another book.

The exam was in my opinion, generally easier than the tests i had taken. Not so many long questions. Mostly possible to filter out 1 to 2 wrong answers.

What was weird about my results though, i got proficient ranking in planning and execution and below proficient in closing. I was expecting it to be the other way. Sounds llike i have to focus on closing process more.

Good luck to you all.

 Congrats!!

Mine is set for April 1.

All the very very best Eddie....

 Hi there,

Many congratulations to you on your achievement! I agree with you about over studying, which is why I'm sticking to my regular study schedule and not trying to over study. Few questions for you:

1. Was it necessary to memorize the ITTOs?

2. What sources did you leverage for your mock tests?

Thanks,

Chelsea

 Chelsea,

I casually memorized ittos. Only those which makes sense and stay easily in my brain (i.e. output of change request is approved chnges and not requested and so on)

I used rita exam simulator and reviewd all of the questions. I then tried an esi publication but did a real 200 question exam to see how long it takes fir me. After that, reviwed any random short tests i could find on internet at my leisure time.

In terms of timimg, i knew that i can finish within 2.5 hours if answering the questions with an average speed.ii decided to use 3.5 hour instead to have a relaxed pace.  Took a break after every 10 questions.

Good luck

Many congratulations on your achievement! You must be feeling relieved :)

9th April is my exam date. So far this is my progress:
