Passed PMP on Dec/30/2011 on first try.

Its great news; I passed my PMP exam in California on Dec/30/2011 with results below:

Initiating the Project:  Moderately Proficient
Planning the Project: Proficient
Executing the Project: Moderately Proficient
Monitoring and Controlling the Project: Proficient
Closing the Project: Moderately Proficient

Please find my lessons learned below:

Exam was lengthy, tricky and reasonably tough. As reported on various forums after Aug PMP change, many wordy questions were present. I got around 30 two paragraph questions that were mostly painting a situation and asking a response. I did not find them too hard as choices were not so close and you can easily figure out the correct answer (more importantly wrong once!!). I got around 10 questions, which were multi-paragraph questions (need to scroll screen to see full question). I was not able to take any break and hit submit button just a minute left in timer.  On the contrary from many responses on forums saying Risk and Quality dominating PMP exam, mine was dominated by cost, schedule and chart/graph questions. Many times, simple X-Y graph analysis solved the problem.

I have created a blog to share more information on PM profession and PMP. Please find more on my blog.

Cheers!!

Ramdev, Please go to my blog. I am providing all information there. I plan to keep on writing in future on various PM (and PMP) topics too. I like the blog idea as on forums things get lost with lot of other traffic.

Please have a look and let me know if you have any specific question. I have given a facebook link too. I believe, this way I can help bigger set of community.

Have a look:  www.PMP360.com
