Pmzilla Question on Define Activity - Admin ?

Admin,

I am not sure about this question.. I need you help to understand If there is a mistakes..

 

You have been assigned as Project Manager for a human capital information system and you have team memers that have no experience in this area. While defining the project activities you want to identify typical schedule milestones and typical activity list. Which tools or technique is best used for this situation ?

 

A ) Expert judgment

B ) Templates

C ) Pplanning Component

D ) Schedule Network templates

Where are we ?  -  In Define Activities

What are we looking at ?  Tools of Define Activities.

Tools of Define Activities in PMbok5 = Decomposition, Roling Wave planning, Expert judgment

The answer is B )   Why ??

I understand that it says : You have team members with no experience in this areas, so I guess " you tells us with that the "Expert judgment" is wrong ???

 

But,  "Template" is no a tool at all in Define ACtivities

Expert judgement is generic if you read page 128 of PMBoK 5 , Expert judgement can come in form of templates, which is requried in this case.

"Expert judgment can also come in the form of predefined templates that provide guidance on how to effectively break down common deliverables. Such templates may be industry or discipline specific or may come from experience gained in similar projects."

Based on this sentence " typical schedule milestones and typical activity list" - it implies that there are already predefined format/template for this tasks. so option B is correct.
