Need help:
A project is handled by departments of an organization and expedited by a project coordinator. Which of the following statements is most likely to be true?
A. The performing organization is a weak matrix
B. The performing organization is doing "management by projects".
C. The performing organization is a strong matrix.
D. The performing organization is projectized
The right answer is A according to oliverlehmann.com
But I have two questions:
- Doesn't a project coordinator exist in weakmatrix, composite and balanced matrix?
- Does B correspond to a Composite Org.?

the position of the PM in different form of orgnization is depends upon the authority level. the position of coordinator and expediator exists in weak matrix orgnization.

A weak matrix will be generally managed by functional manager where in project coordinator reporting to the senior management guy and coordianting the work between funcitonal manager and senior management..He wouldn't have authority on managing the budget, limited decision making & no control on the project...this is as good as functional organization.
Project coordinator exists in weak and functional organization..
