Work performance information vs Work perforkmance Measuremnt
Submitted by joe_aad on Thu, 05/10/2012 - 12:14
I have competed 10 floors of a building- for me this a WPI
I am supposed to complete 100 floors when the project completes - thus i am 10% complete
is this WPI or WPM?
As planned in should have completed 30 floors by today so compared to the planned have completed 33 % of the planned work - this is a WPM
My variance is 66% or 20 floors, this is a variance.
So i am lost with point 2 the 10% completeor the status is it WPI or WPM

WPI vs WPM
Work Performance Information (WPI) is the performance actual/raw data.
Work Performance Measurement (WPM) is the comparison data between actual vs. planned.
Performance Reports summarizes the information from WPI and WPM and presents them as required by the stakeholders.
>> For Point 2, since you are comparing the data, its WPM.

WPM -WPI
WPI - raw data, information , in routine
WPM - based on WPI, some standarized parameters or values like - PV, CV , EV, CPI etc.
Performance Reports- which comprises above WPM
WPI -------> WPM ----------> PR
See -10.5.1.2 and 10.5.1.3 and 7.3.3.1 and 10.3.1.2
