From where to start?
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum and recently decided to give PMP certification Exam.
But i heard that 35 contact hours to be finished before filling up the application form.
Here comes the real question:
1. If i take 35 contact hrs, before the application , will i be able to understand the concepts without even reading PMBOK or any other book?
2. I want to go for something good and reasonable , proven and available online for 35 PDUs, PMPs please suggest which one have you used... I see the options like PMChamp, PMHub, SimpliLearn, PMCampus, PMStudy etc.. (You can suggest me something else if better)
3. Is PMChamp an REP? If not, then are 35 hrs certificates valid from them?
4. Is that OK if i refer PMBOK and Rita in Books?
5. Steps of prep as i understand:
a) Take 35 hrs training.
b) Fill Application and apply for exam.
c) Book the exam date after confirmation.
d) Study from books refered.
e) online simulation exams
f) Final Exam
Please confirm!
I will appreciate as many responses possible from seniors, Please help!

35 Hrs and procedure
Hi,
Recently i have taken course through PM prepcast (online) and got 35 hrs certificate. It is very good and
well explained all the process groups and knowledge areas. I would say, you go for PM prepcast.
But still, you need to read PMBOK atleast once. Currently i am reading Rita mulcahy (6th edition ) as it is
very dry reading PMBOK first.
PMBOK (4th edition ) and Rita Mulcahy (6th edition) is needed for PMP preparation.
Thanks and Regards,
Bala
