This is an old issue. There is a big business happening behind PMI certifications. The more aspirants are craving for the real info and with their eagerness to be certified, they could be easily manipulated to purchase books, undergo paid trainings, etc. With hundred of thousands of aspirants every month that purchases PMP materials - Billion of dollars go to those who are engaged in the business.
I blindly agree with you. Here is another similar example:
Do you know myopia? When you have headache and go to eye testing centre for eye check up, you are always advised to wear glass that have very less negative power (like -0.25 or -0.5). Over 70% of people come under this category. This has been proven through research that such small power glass is not really needed, if you are relax and stress free, you will be able to see the same distance object without this glass. The reality is, wearing glass does not correct eye power. But the question is, why all medical books recommend wearing such low power glass and some also say wearing power glass correct eye power? Simple answer…Millions of eye testing centers are setup, providing glossy glasses and branded frames. Such shops are present in every street corner today. If medical council starts advertising that such small power glass are not really needed and wearing glass does not correct eye power, will anyone buy such spectacles?. What will happen to billion dollar optical industry?
There are some business that do not want to change and become transparent because doing so, billions dollar industry running on it will crash. I feel same is with PMI: 1. They do not document the rules for passing the PMP exam 2. Never disclose the question and its answer They want these debates to happen so that different providers come with different perception and do business. The day they make everything transparent, this billions dollar industry providing PMP guides, mock questions, guarantee pass schemes etc would stop and there would be a big business crash.
A typical example of Survival of the fittest!
I have developed a bad habit of giving real life example for everything. Sorry forum members, if I keep diverting you.
I totally agree with promanpro and Saket Sir (wish I ever disagree with him). I think not agreeing with Saket Sir is like showing light to Sun. I saw the link in the afternoon and thought what has such a revered and respected Pawarji Sir has sent. Its crap as it still talks about professional and social responsibility and tries to give insight which even an idiot like me would not buy. Respected Pawarji Sir, please devote your time for something constructive. That will help you and few misnomers like yours truly. Warmest Regards Pawarji Sir. Thanks, KK...
If you are a pMp aspirant , my sincere advise is not to waste time reading and disecting PMP exam, but make sure you are adequately prepared.
You will have to worry about these points only if you are not adequately prepared, Keep your focus on learning the subject, concepts and then do practice tests and you will pass the PMP.
The problem with disucssing all this is you get caught up in what is right, wrong and lose focus of the end goal. "Accept things you cannot change" move on, A vast majority of people have passed PMP and will continue to pass without worrying about all this.
