What is the passing % for the exam

How many questions out of 200 we should get correct to pass the exam ?

Hi Prateek,

You need to get Approximate 60% to pass the Project Management Exam. It's not depending on the no of questions.

All the best for your PMP.

I am sure i would have scored more than that... I dont know what went wrong...

Is it 60 % of 175 or 60 % of 200

Because all the exams which i gave earlier from PM Fast Track and all i have always scored above 60 %. God know what happened.

Thanks for your responce

Hi Prateek,

It should be 60% of 200, Because out of 200 questions 175 questions are scored and 25 questions are unscored. We can't judge which 25 questions are unscored. So we have to attempt all the 200 questions.

Please share some details on the exam topics, time managed, books studied. Did you also try other mock test other than Rita, What were your scores. Other can review your plan and help.

i would suggest take some time off as this exam is stressful.

PMI does not reveal the PMP exam passing and grading protocol.

These does not hold true try anymore:
1. If you get 61 % in 175 questions
2. 25 questions are pre-test questions and are not counted

As per my PMP mentor, PMI has established various rules to pass the PMP exam, including:
1. Each process group analysis with minimum percentage. Some say its 60%.
2. In not more than 2 process group you should get Below Proficient.
3. Overall minimum percentage of the entire test (200 Questions). Some say its 64%.
4. Psychometric analysis – In some questions you are given more marks depending upon its complexity

Considering all 4 above, your PMP exam result is decided. Again, this is what my PMP mentor has said, he too is not sure of these.
