I guess you are asking about the supplementary book to be used, as PMBOK should be your main source. Now, both Rita and Headfirst have their own merits and demerits. It depends upon each individual.
Many people in this forum have said that Rita has a negative tone and that they have found it difficult to follow her. But I read just PMBOK and Rita. I didnt use Headfirst as I liked the way of explanation in Rita. But I have heard that few chapters like Risk, Procurement are very well explained in Headfirst.
So again, the final call should be yours. There are lots of discussion about this topic in this forum. Do a search and read them. You may get an idea.
To your specific question, you may better go with Headfirst before Rita simply because of its approach of building concepts from the basement level upwards.
Rita assumes a basic pre-req standard for readers which doesn't exactly suit all beginners.
