Struggling with Executing Process

I am struggling with the executing process of project management which is a BIG deal on the exam.

Does anyone have any advice??

Are there any study groups out there?

 Hi

Looking at information provided it is not clear what you are struggling with?  Can you be little bit specific? 

Further I would advice to prep by the knowledge areas. Visit PMBoK page 43 at the beginning and end of each chapter. see my roadmap for PMP prep

Per PMBoK bible with referece to Project Management Framework chapters, Executing PG is the "Do" phase  from the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. Have a look at page 55, it shows the interaction of Executing PG with other process groups.

I would put summary of Executing Process group as follows:

Very Purpose: Majority of the budget will be spent in performing actions from executing process group. It includes Resources for obtaining a team, executing the work of the project, and integrating the work of people and other resources to carry out the project plan. Includes tools for quality assurance, communicating progress, and developing and managing the project team, stakeholders and sponsors. 

  1. Direct and Manage Project Execution 
  2. Perform Quality Assurance 
  3. Acquire Project Team 
  4. Information Distribution 
  5. Develop Project Team 
  6. Request Seller Responses 
  7. Select Sellers 

You may like to take PG'wise tests from Fasttrack and Brainbok to reinforce your knowledge around the executing process group.

Hi Makrand, PMP,


 


Brainbok does NOT have any test pertaining to KAs or PGs. They only deal with ITTOs and only 50 questions modelled like the actual PMP test and can be rated as Moderately difficult.


 


Rita FT. Yes, it does have tests KA and PG wise but not Brainbok.


 


Brainbok essentially deals with ITTOs, that  is it. I know and can say because I, luckily, have both. Brainbok is too good.

Hi Makarand, PMP,


 


Once you log in and go to their quiz section you are allowed to choose from four sections and they are:


 


1. Process Quiz


2. ITTO


3. Data Flow quiz


4. Glossary


 


You are only checked on ITTOs on all the above-mentioned categories, however, glossary does have other questions as well. I see their first two sections of Process Quiz and ITTO are same.
