Project starvation happen when resources are cut off from the project even before completing the requirements of the project. The resources can be humans, machines or money. There may be reasons for doing this like
1. Higher priority project has come up
2. Business case for project is no longer valid and project is not needed now.
3. Resouce supply become unavailable during the course of project.
on the other hand if your project is merged with another project then effectively your project does not exist. This way , by integration the project has ended.
