Yes, you are eligible provided
Yes, you are eligible provided you have 3 years experience in leading, SPOC, Management etc.
In general people who have 6+ years of experience in any industry are eligible for PMP exam. PMI does not expect you to work as a project manager, all it expects that you have performed some leadership type of duties in the project that you show under eligible category.

Please scan my words carefully
Please scan my words carefully “In general people who have 6+ years of experience in any industry are eligible for PMP exam.”. When I say 6+ years in industry experiences, I mean the initial 2-3 years goes in forming/norming phase and then actually you start taking lead roles in your duties and by the time you have 6 year of experience you already achieve 3 years in lead role. If you have 3 years and 4500 hours of lead role experience, go ahead, you are eligible for the PMP exam.
