Scrum Vs Project Management

 Hi,

I'm a IT project manager (not a PMP) and was looking to get certified in this field.

Wanted to know in comparision which would hold more value - PMP or scrum certification.

I am more inclined towards Scrum as my organization is currently using the same. I was able to identify 3 providers for the same:

1. Scrum alliance

2. www.Scrumstudy.com

3. Scrum

which amongst them, who would be the ideal service provider i should opt for?

Choice is yours. It depends what u r looking for in Scrum training.

Scrum Alliance certification is trainer driven and varies from trainer to trainer.

Scrumstudy has standard course amterial with role playes and case studis. kind of more implimentation orinted.

Choice is yours.. Best of luck.. !!

Which Scrum training provider would give a better exposure towards real time product development?

Im looking for the same thing :| .

Have gone through a few blogs and websites but still not clear on that aspect

Certifications which are in-line with job will always be more valuable. You should go for scrum certification or PMI - ACP. PMP will be good, but scrum related certification will help you advance in your career.

But isnt PMP certification a more valid certification in terms of market relevance. For scrum my only concern is that there is no authorization body - everyone claims to be the best. So in this case how would i know who to choose and why?
