Schedule Compression or Alternative Schedule is answer?

A project manager while monitoring the project status discovers that an activity has been delayed and he would need additional resource and efforts
to complete the task and bring project back to normal. What BEST he can do in this situation?
Options:
A: Try to compress the project schedule and see if that helps.
B: Ask for additional resources.
C: He should label resources immediately.
D: He should apply Lead and Lag to adjust project critical path.

Option A
A delay in a Critical path activity can only be brought back to normal by Compressing the project schedule.

The answer should be to compress (crash/fast track) the schedule - Answer A. Leads and Lags are applied during planning stage (create schedule). Currently the PM is doing monitoring. Answers B and C do not indicate an action that can resolve the issue.
