Question on scheduling
Submitted by Renji2013 on Tue, 03/26/2013 - 09:09
How to answer this one ?
You are a Project Manager in a construction company. Your Project sponsor is an experienced Project manager herself. She is worried that this Project may fall behind schedule, as winter is fast approaching than normal for this time of year. As a result, she tells you to begin the build phase, even though the design phase isn’t yet completed. Which of the following statements is not true?
You are doing fastracking
You are crashing
Critical path may change
Thsi will increase risks

Answer should be 'Criitcal path may change'
Fast tracking & Crashing are used for securing the schedule / critical path, best practice. Any such activity doing build phase before design phase will add to your risk. The odd person out is Critical path, so it should be 'Critical path change'
Anyone has different choice?

What's the source of this
What's the source of this question? Definitely not a good question (waste of time)

IMOB will not be a true
IMO
B will not be a true statement.
design and building are going side by side (parallel), hence fast tracking is there
you are not compressing any activity by putting extra resources, hence no crashing
running parallel activity (fast tracking may cause risks)
critical path may change because of fast tracking

This type of questions do come with little tweak
I agree with above post and b is not true. We get this type of questions in pmp. The only change will be instead of asking which is not true it will ask which is really true and definitely choices will change :).
