Question regarding CAPM relevence to Controls Technician job.

Greetings all,

I am in the process of completing the CAPM. I began roughly ten years ago while in the military and couldn't finish due to relocating, etc. I am now wanting to finish, in the process of studying and taking classes again. I know the CAPM would open up doors into the PM world, but how about the industrial maintenance/controls technician world?

Project management would be a great skill to have, but I don't do a great deal of that in my current position. The closest I get is a leadership role over larger work orders. Does anyone see any value to me getting the CAPM other than the satisfaction of having done it?

Thank you in advance.
