Question on critical path analysis

Hi All,


Below is a question from Time Management on critical path.


A can be started immediately and has a duration of 6.
B can be started after A and has a duration of 7.
C can be started after B and has a duration of 10.
D can be started after C and has a duration of 1.
E can be started after D and has a duration of 4.
F can be started after B and has a duration of 9.
G can be started after F and has a duration of 8.
H can be started after G and has a duration of 4.
I can be started after B and has a duration of 11.
J can be started after H and I and has a duration of 6.
K can be started after J and E and has a duration of 3.
K ends the process.


what is the critical path?


Critical path as per solution given is A,B,C,G,H,J,K,End which equals 44.
As per my calculation, critical path should be 43 and should follow path
A,B,F,G,H,J,K,End.


Can someone please clarify how the solution on question bank arrives at critical path=44?

Well it looks like you are right that critical path is ABFGHJK which equals to 43.

Now there are two possibilities:

1. Either the question is wrong

Or

2. Answer given is wrong

Thanks for your help. This was a question from PMFast track. So i am a bit surprised that some questions/answers are wrong there as well.


This same critical diagram shows up in 5-6 questions.
