Hello:
I saw this question on Brainbok and thought of sharing,
Q: Organisations frequently take actions in contradiction to the problem they are trying to solve, and as a result compound the problem than solve it. What is this?
0 Laissez-Faire
0 Force Majeure
0 Gold Plating
0 Journey to Abilene
Lets see how many of us can answer this.
This question is not meant for two people: (A) Saket, and (B) Projmanpro. Since they would know it anyway
Thanks,
KK....

Ans: 4Since many people know
Ans: 4
Since many people know what is gold plating and force majeure so two choices can be eliminated easily. Laissez-faire is a management style so the only choice is left - option 4. I left the explanation part for you.

KK, may i also input my ideas
KK, may i also input my ideas (even if this question is not meant for me and Saket :) as no one actually explained furter why is it called Journey to Abilene. In that question of Sspawar above, obviously the right answer is Choice C.
Now, why is it called "Journey to Abilene"?
First thing you guys need to remember. This "Journey to Abilene" is something that is a "compromise"
This term is taken from a story like this (i paraphrase the story): The father told his wife and children that they will spend their nights at Abilene. The youngest son however doesnt want to go to Abilene because he knows this place is very far, in addition to the current weather condition that is storny, while the road to Abilene is rough and therefore not safe to travel. But, the wife (his mother) and all of his other 2 siblings all wanted to go to Abilene. Now, the youngest son, since he will be left home alone, he then decided to go with his family to that journey, even if deep inside him, he doesnt want to.
May this illustration has helped you dude understand the theory of "Journey to Abilene"
