Project PMP accomplished :)

Dear All,

Last week, I was able to successfully clear the PMP in the very first attempt.

Important:  * Book your exam slot (and dont try to postpone it, fix a date plan and work accordingly)*

I had done the following as a part of my preparations. It took me exactly 3 months for preparation.

1. Read PMBOK

2. Read Rita's PMP Exam preparation  with PMBOK including the end of chapter questions.

3.  Read Andy Crowe, which is also a very good book.

4 Started taking tests and capturing the scores (Tests only on weekends)

5 I captured all the mistakes I made a note in a seperate book, which I knew will be helpful in later stages,

this helped me in preventing same kind of mistakes again and again.

6 While taking test only on weekends, in b/w the week I started of with Rita's Book  once again (Which gave me confidence)

7 Last week of the exam I only took tests and went back and revised the PMBOK and my mistakes book again.

8  Refering the glossary is also very important

PMBOK and Rita is the best combination I can suggest to clear the test.

Full length practice tests keeping track of your scores and recording the mistakes are really very important.

Last week of exam

Two days before the exam my grandfather passed away, and I was in a dilemma to take up the exam or not.

But my concious didnt permit me to postpone the exam.  I felt my greatest offering to my beloved grandfather would

be to perform well in the exam. So I motivated myself and went on with taking the exams.

On the day of the exam I kept myself  focused which really fetched.

During your exam your mind starts wavering, try to focus on the current question rather than the previous questiong

Took 3 breaks and was left with around 30 mins at last for questions marked for review.

Last but not the least, your frame of mind, commitment and confidence helps you a lot in succesfully completing

" THE PROJECT PMP"

I thank PMZILLA team and all the PMPs who shared there valuable experience.

Good tips for new Exam takers. One question I understand that most of the questions are  situational queries. Were there questions right out of PMBOK meaning like some questions in PMstudy exams or Oliver exams the exact Lines stated in PMBOK.

Hello Mr. Saeed,

Yes most were questions were situational, but some questions came directly out of PMBOK.

I could remember even remember the sentences, Ex: questions on ITTO's and many more.

but number of direct questions were less compared to situational quesitons.

u can easily score if u get direct questions....

Tilak
