PMP Exam Preperation advise

Dear All,

I have taken a PMP course and Im preparing for the exam on April 7 2014. I have read Pmbok and Rita 8th once. my plan is to read both of them second time and keep the last 15 days for the mock exams. can someone advise me please.I have 1 month and 7 days.

Thanks

You need to start taking mock testing 1 month before.  Studying is only 40%.  The rest 60% is answering to questions and scoring atleast 85% to be sure to pass.

In my opinion:

1. Start practicing questions and short quizzes now that you have read the 2 books once. Start testing your question comprehension skills and keep a note of time you take to answer the questions.

2. Always review all answers and their explanations (even the correct ones) to make sure that your reasoning for choosing an answer is in line with the explanation provided. That will give you confidence of knowing your understanding of concepts is on the right track.

3. Take atleast 3 full length exams, similar to what you would get at Prometric. Ideally 2 exams should be closer (in last couple of weeks) to your exam date.

4. Practice close to 1200+ unique questions if you can. It will give you a good handle on the type, complexity and variety of questions (wording of the question, tense of the question etc).

5. Do read PMBOK atleast 2 times, and make sure to understand the concepts. Also focus on Glossary for definitions of a lot of terms not elaborated in the main content.

Sounds good, but i just feel you should include few more mock tests for exam preparation :)

Your plan seems good. If you can stretch your mock exam window, it will be nice.

... but maybe you are a little late.

Stay focused... following this link you will find a good advice about how to manage your PMP study time
