PMP Exam Passed in the first attempt and less than a month of preparation :)

Friends,

Just  wanted to share the good news of officially passing the PMP exam... The feeling is great and is still sinking in... This being my first attempt, and with a small baby in tow, I could prepare for close to 3 weeks...

Major thanks to the book  - ' The PMP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try' by Andy Crowe. In fact, this was the only book I read fully, and attempted all practice questions, including the mockup final exams... The book is great, clear and simple; way better than Rita for sure, and I tried with Rita, but found it too confusing. I used the PMBok for the basics, Integration Management topic and the definitions of the terms given at the end.

Make sure to take as much practice tests as possible. The practice tests on PMI site are great, and I consistenlty scored above 70% in them. The pmstudy simulator was the closest to the exam; I took the free test, and could only score 63% there; but it actually made me realise my weak areas, and I re read those portions.

The exam was hard, and I was amazed at the versatility of the questions... one suggestion would be to concentrate more on earned value measurements and quality areas...  But ultimately, the todo would be to understand the concepts and definitions, do a lot of mock tests :)

 Congratulations!
