I have passed my PMP on first try today.   Here is my PMP preparation saga..

Prepared for around 5 months. 

Study Material used :   PMBOK , Rita Mulcahy

Question banks used :  PM Perfect, Tech FAQ, Exam Central, PMP Simulator ( pmpexamsimulator.com), PM Simulator by Cornelius Fitchner, ajithn.com ( free questions ) , Oliver Lehman free questions.   Had to pay for PM perfect, Tech FAQ , PMP simulator and PM Simulator.   

Out of the question banks, I think PM perfect and Tech FAQ are good enough for the exam.  PM simulator by Cornelius had lot of lengthy questions and I could not find any single question like that in the exam.  

I could not find PMP simulator.com interesting  ( had 5 choices ) spelling mistakes etc.  

In my opinion, I haver over prepared for the exam.   I found the exam to be pretty basic.    I completed the exam in 2 hours and reviwed them again in 1 hour.   Submitted the exam before half hour because I was bored. 

Systematic study for couple of months of PMBOK and Rita and taking around 10 mock exams including Tech FAQ and PM Perfect and Exam central should work.
