PMP certified, 3rd of March, my short story

 Hi all,

I just want to share shortly my PMP exam experience since I used this site from time to time to check for resources and lessons learned from other who passed the exam.

I’ve used a 4 months’ timeframe with an average of 10-15 hours per week.

Materials used, all read just one time :

  •

    -

    PMbok - the bible

  • -

HeadFirst - very good in understanding key points

  • -

Rita Mulcahy – PMP exam prep- 7th ed. – the best book

  • -

PMP® Project Management   Professional Study  Guide, Third Edition, Joseph Phillips – just for the end chapters Q&A (average of 85%).

  • -

PM prepcast by  Cornelius Fichtner –  audio and video while jogging

  • -

PMFastrack – did all the Q&A per each KA (average of 83%).

I’ve read through each material once I was in each KA and perform all Q&A section from the end of each material.

For recap, I used the Abhishek's Version - Rajesh Nair PMP Notes sheets and Formulae CheatSheet Anil Tanguturi pdf  ( thank you Pmzilla !) and went back through all each questions where I got a wrong answer from the first time, per each KA and per each material used.

Finally, I did 4 free full length exams:

  • -

PM study – 74% - very close to the real exam (highly recommended)

  • -

Oliver Lehmann 175Q – 73% - a step above the real exam difficulty

  • -

Simplilearn – 72% -  close to the real exam, somewhere between PM study and Oliver ( very good situational questions)

  • -

EdWel – 72% - good but just if you have time

I end up the real exam with 2P(E /M&C), 2MP (I/P) and 1BP(C).

Good luck to all!

Congrates on your PMP !

Thanks and Regards

Prakhar
