I'm a little bit confused here regarding PMO, appreciate if any experts here can help me define to me alittle bit.


1) PMO stands for Project Management Office or Program Management Office?


2) Does an organization need to have Project Management Office before establishing Program Management Office?


3) Does Project Management Office & Program Management Office function the same way and operating in the same manner?

PMO is used interchangeably for project / program. For PMP , its project management office. The scope of PMO can vary from being plain admistrative to driving the entire project. Check Rita's book for various functions.

Referring to Rita's book, PMO is Project management office. But I see a company hiring PMO executive where PMO they are referring to is Program Management Office.
