PMI RMP v/s PMP - Should a certified PMP go for RMP ?

Hi Everyone,

I recently cleared my PMP exam and now want to do a certification in Risk Management. I then came accross PMI- RMP , but I am confused and not sure if RMP be giving any new learning or not since it based on PMBOK  ( I assume) which I have already studied ?

I would greatly appreciate if someone can share his/her thoughts on the above topic and let me know in your opinion how would you comapre RMP to other certifications in Risk Management .

Thank for your time.

Hi Gaurav

If you are into risk managmenet profession, then it may be of some value to consider RMP certification. Currently the people who are in training or risk management space are taking up RMP certification.

RMP may enhance some of your understanding on risk managmenet space due to the readings you do. However as I said the certification will be of value only if you have some further use of it.

Thanks , Appriciate your feedback.

Yes, I work as a Risk Manager for a Large MNC in India and I am planning on gaining a globally recognized certification that also adds to my knowledge and gives me exposure to global practices .
