Passed today 25th June with 3P+2MP
Hi all, I passed today the PMP exam with 3P (Planning, Executing, M&C) and 2 MP (Initiating, Closing).
This was my journey:
I started reading PMBOK a few months ago, which I found very hard to read, but probably this shouldn't have been my first pick.
Then, I read Headfirst PMP, wich has a totally different aproach. It's very easy to read and understand, but I found it someway very "light" to provide a proper preparation. I've done this reading during some weekends, a chapter per day, followed by Headfirst's exercices.
In the meanwhile I made the PMP application and signed for the exam.
In the last two weeks I took holidays from work, to have more focus and ensure a proper preparation.
During those two weeks I've read Rita's twice and made a lot of exams, scoring between 62,5% at Lehman's (hard one) to 86% at Rita's. I made around 12 full exams from several sources (Rita's PMP, Rita's SuperPMP, PMStudy, Lehman's, Headfirst), my average was 78%.
The best book I was Rita's, in my opinion provides a very good insight of what is needed for the exam, in a clear way.
Today, in the morning I've just reviewd some key points, like the EV formulas, organizational theories, etc, just to make sure that they where fresh in my memory for the exam.
I've lunched as usual, near the exam place. After lunch I took a coffee and a energy drink (this was not usual :) ) and headed for the exam (at 2:00pm).
After standard procedures I entered the exam room and started. I started for dumping the EV formulas, just in case, and skiped the tutorial.
Made 100Q in around 1:20h and took a 5min break. Restarted and made the other 100Q in around 1:30. At this point I still had plenty of time for reviewing the marked questions (54) and took another 5min break. Finally i reviewed the marked question and changed some of them (5-6?), all in about 15min. Most of the questions I just let them with the fist choise I had before.
Time for scoring, clicked the "End Exam" button, waited for a few seconds and finally the Congratulations message showed up in the screen :)
That's it!
I would like to thank you very much all for the excelent input you provided me in this forum!
Best regards.

Thank you!I was expecting the
Thank you!
I was expecting the exam to be more difficult, the critical path diagrams questions were simple, so the EV questions, very straightforward.
At the end of the exam I was sure that I had passed. Before the final review I had 146Q non-marked (pretty sure about the answer) and 56 marked (some ambigous or more tough questions). During my preparation with the mock-up exams I realized that I consistently had about:
- 85-90% non-marked questions right
- 50% marked questions right
I made the math with a pessimistic approach and the score was: 146*0.8+54*.45=141.1 (~71%).
I don't know what the score is for 3P+2MP but i imagine that it will be somewhere around 80%, that is coherent with the "most likely" score.
Just another comment about my study: I did not memorized any ITTO, I have not the kind of memory to do that. Instead I try to understad the logic beneath the processes and ITTO, it makes sense and it's a lot easier, at least for me.
Best regards
