Passed PMP today - Lessons Learned
After 5 months of studying for PMP and one failed attempt, I passed the exm today. On my first attempt, I did the folowing:
1. Read PMBok one time
2. Read Rita's book ver7 one full time
3. Reviewed Rita's several time randomly
4. Did almost all all PM Fast Track questions related to each knowledge areas
5. Did Rita's Fast Track full PMP exam, scored about 70%
5. Did only one mock test using PM Study, scored about 66%
I decided to go for exam (after about 3 months studying) but failed with lots of below proficient. Then, I decided not to give up, I scheduled the second attempt exam two months later and did the following:
1. Read Kim Heldman book.
2. Re-organized PMBok in a way that it goes along with Kim Heldman. Basically, organized it per the process group (initiating, planning, executing, m&m, and closing). Everytime I complete a process group in Heldman I read PMBok related sections.
3. Read Rita's book but quickly
4. Start doing lots of mock exams:
- PM Simulator (Exam 1) 66%
- PM Simulator (Exam 2) 68%
- Fast Track 79%
- PM Study (Test 4) 69%
- Simplilearn 66%
- Leahman 175 67%
Went to the exam and after 4 hrs I did not believe myself that I passed with, proficient in initiating and executing and moderately in all others.
Please do as much mock exam as you can and use pmpstudynotes mind map, it helped me a lot.
Wish you all best of luck.

New exam with the new pattern
Congratulations to your pasted exam and thank you for sharing your LL's here. I am going to take the exam in January. I would like to know if the real exam was much different than the sample exam's that you mentioned above. I am studying with the PMBOk, Rita's 6th edition and Rita's fast track. Since i used these 3 items to pass the CAMP exam before, i thought that they would be enough to pass the PMP now.
Can you give your suggestion and some more details about the real exam?!
Thanks a lot in advance..it will be a pleasure to write my LL's down in January next year telling everyone..I PASSED TOO!

Thank you. I started to use
Thank you. I started to use Rita's 6 and then went and bought ver7, fankly no much of difference. Continue reading Rita's and PMBok and if you have time read Heldman book it is very nice and the end chapter exams are nice and chanlenging. I will advice you to didcate at least 10 days if not more to do a lot of mock exam, they will not apprae as is in the exam but will give you more confident to answer real questions. In the first attempt I did not do much of these mock exam and I think that was the reason I failed. Print pmpstudynotes.com mindmap and keep it near to you when you study, I print them all and hang them in my bed room and everytime I pass by I read something this helps me rember most of ITTOs and be familier with them.
Wish you best of luck and I hope you pass in Jan.
