Passed PMP in March 2013
I'm glad to inform that I have passed my PMP exam from the first time at the end of March. Since I was visiting this forum silently and getting inspired from the other member I decided to share my lessons learned also.
To get prepared for the exam I relied mainly on the PMBOK and RITA's PMP® Exam Prep, 7th Edition. I have to mention here that I was studying mainly after work and in during some of the weekends. This is roughly 2h per evening and 4-5h in the weekend.
I've started my preparation by going trough the PMP preparaion course from Skillsoft. It took me about 2 months time to pass all the modules. With this course I was able to gain the required 35 PDU.
After that I went trough PMBOK once and trough RITA's PMP Exam Prep guide. It took me a bit more time to go trough the books because I was taking some notes on paper on the important items. I did not memorize the ITTO but tried to learn the logic between the process.
My most intense prepapration took around 3 months in the beginning of 2013. I went for a second time trough PMBOK and RITA's PMP Exam Prep. guide. I was reading both books in parallel. Somewhere in begining of February I started to take some of the free practice exams. There are really a lot of free practice exam questions. During my reading of RITA's PMP Exam guide I was doing the practice questions after each chapter. I can definatelly say that they are of good quality and are close to the real exam. I was scoring between 70 and 85% on those chapters tests.
The free practice exams that I took were:
PMStudy,
Oliverlehmann 75 Questions,
Head First PMP exam,
PMZILLA Final PMP Exam.
At the end the main goal is to get trained to the various topics which are on the exam. On the PMZilla exam I got 50% success rate which was a bit scary but the questions are really tough. On the other full practice exams I was scoring around 75%. I can also recommend the Android PMP Exam application with questions from Oliver Lehmann.
The days before the exam I was going trough the notes that I created and the notes from Rajesh Nair and Chowdary which are really good summary.
Now few words for the real exam. I took me almost 3h 45 minutes to complete all the questions without any break. Then I used the rest of the time to go trough the marked questions.
In the begining of the exam I did my brain dump which included the 42 process, basic formulas and some other key terms related to HR, PM power types, Risk response strategies.
I had a lot of math related questions so learning the formulas helped me solving I guess most of them. There were also a lot of HR related questions which were a bit tough to solve since some of the answers were very close. I had 10-15 questions from Risk Management, few questions which involved network diagrams.
The real exam questions were a bit harder to solve than the free tests but doing a lot of pracitce questions helps a lot.
At the end I would like to thank to all the members sharing their experience and lessons learned. I wish good luck to everyone who is in process of preparation for the exam.

First, Congratulations!!!
I am scheduled for this thursday.
Next, I hope you would detail a little, your post:
1. ITTOs - did you do good, or you would have done better if you learned them by heart?
2. Math problems - would you have some links/sources, please. Or could you list types?
3. I memorized the processes (p.43) but I cannot really find a use for them on the mock exams. Did you glance at that chart? or it only gave you confidence:) ?
4. Are the questions meant to be tricky or they are complex situationally and that is what makes them harder?
I hope you will help. Thank you.

Here is brief reply of your questions:
I think that I did good on ITTOs. Probably you can gain few extra questions right if you memorize all the ITTOs but that's a big effort that requires a lot of time.
About the MATH questions: I was using the formula list from RITA's PMP and the one from PMLEAD.NET. On most of the questions you had to retrieve the information and match it to a formula.
Regarding the process list - yes, it's good for confidence but also to recall quickly visually the sequence of the processes if needed.
Situational questions were tricky because for most the answers were quite close. Just make sure to read the questions carefully. If you have some doubt MARK it and don't spend too much time.
Good luck on the exam!
