Passed PMP - June 24, 2009 NJ

I passed my PMP on June 24th. Let me "THANK YOU"  PMZILLA admins, sponsors and community for this valuable source of information and maintaining the site with useful links. For me in the exam I got more questions on Procurement Management, Risk Management and Scope Management. I was able to complete the exam in 3 hours 30 min with one break
of 10 minutes. I had marked around 100 questions  and didn't get time ro review all (able to review 80 questions).  I finally submitted my exam and closed my eyes and see the message "Congratulations ......." . :)Laughing

Lessons learned:

I started preparing for the exam 4 months back as I am out of project, and used this time to prepare for the exam.

1. Read PMBOK – 3rd edition 3 times and reviewed glossary couple of times more, I find it more useful
2. Rita’s PMP exam prep 2 times

3. Head First – 2 times.

4. Took sample/mock exams from PM-study, PMZILLA  sample questions, PMHUB -400 questions, Oliver Lehman, Headfirst 200 questions on web and Crosswinds 220 questions.

5. PMZILLA  website is very userful for me with its links to PMP material (brain dump and formulas) and exam links

Key points:

There are no shortcuts, Need to understand the concept and correlate them to your daily work.

Need to Understand the ITTO.

Solve as many questions as possible and get the scores around 80%.

Understand the Earned value techniques, NPV, IRR and other cost concepts.

I got 3 questions on delegation.

Questions look simple, but as they aren’t.

I would be more than happy to help anyone in need and contribute to this forum to the best of my capacity.

Best of luck to all PMP aspirants.

Raj :)
