Passed PMP Hamilton, ON, Canada

Hi everyone,

Passed on a first try on the exam.

4MP & 1BP.

Test was extremely hard with a lot of ambiguous questions, it had more of closing and controlling than from the other areas.

There were also a lot, maybe close to 30 calculation questions, basic EV, CPI, SPI, TCPI, Float, SD and also Lease-or-Buy, and NPV questions.

For me this was extremely unusual amount of calculation questions.

I have prepared for the test by studying exclusively by Rita's PMP Prep 8th edition, read it twice, all quizzes and exercises twice, glossary read from PMBOK and MEMORIZATION of all formulas.

On the exam, used tutorial time to do memory dump of the memorised formulas on the scrap paper, and finished the exam 12 min. remaining time, used to review marked.

Note to Hamilton, ON exam takers, plan your time well before the exam, parking is hard to find, a lot of one way streets. Location is downtown in TriOS building.

Thanks a good luck to others!!

Congrats on passing your exam. do you mind sharing which Proccess groups your results where on?

I used a similar study method and scored 4MP+ BP on M&C unfortunatley I didnt pass.

Hello, Thank you, good luck on yours.

It was Monitoring and Controlling that gave me BP.

There were a lot of misleading questions, point is to understand input and output documents and you will be fine. Also pay attention to the tense in the centences and which stage the project is.

Good Luck!

Daniel

First of all many congratulations for passing your PMP exam.

Well, as mentioned above, you have exclusively used Rita 8th edition for your perpration, is that means you didn't use PMBOK 5th edition? please explain as i am new for PMP with short experine in PM.

Thanks.

Thank you!

I have exclusively used Rita's 8th edition, read only glossary of the PMBOK 5th edition.

If you have short experience in PM, I suggest memorize everything suggested by Rita's Prep.

Do all the exercises and tests min. 2 times, work on the Rita's Process charts and Formulas, learn that as same as you know your home address, literally.

At the end, be laid back and enjoy the test!!

Good Luck!!
