Passed PMP in first attempt on 18 Nov 2009
I am happy to share this news that on 18 Nov 2009 I cleared my PMP certification exam. This time its my turn to contribute to this community by sharing my lessons. PMZilla helped me alot as I used to study other's lessons from this site. You are doing wonderful job, thanks a lot.
My preparation strategy and experince:-
> I mainly studied for around 2.5 months. This was along with my full time job without any leave for preparation.
> I mainly used Head First and Rita along with PMBOK4 for preparation. Head First is very good book with easy to understand language.
> Took following tests around one week before the exam:
Oliver’s 75 questions - 72%
Oliver’s 175 questions - 78%
http://www.pmstudy.com/enroll.asp (200 Qns) - 85%
HeadFirst Free test 200 questions - 88%
http://www.tutorialspoint.com/pmp-exams/pmp_sample_questions.htm (203 Qns) - 84%
> Test contained around 80% situational qns, around 15-20 direct definition or ITTO qns, around 6,7 calculation qns (EV,PV,SPI,CPI etc.) and 2,3 qns were out of syllabus which I had no idea what to answer.
Hope this will help you guys who are preparing for PMP exam. To get more details about my preparation and how I got in touch with project management please read my blog at http://rsyadav.blogspot.com/. Contact me at ravinderyadav@gmail.com for any help regarding PMP exam preparation.
