Passed PMP Exam on May 9...First Attempt
Hello!
I was a silent reader of this marvelous source until now. Since I passed, here's my feedback.
I started studying late last year by reading the PMBOK, soon follwed by the Rita book. They were my main source of info and I read them as much as I could. Occasionally I did browse through other books (Andy Crowe, Kim Heldman) but did not read them in detail. I did however do their questions at the end of each chapter.
My main preparation for Q&A was the Rita CD with 1400 questions. This was an invaluable source as far as I am concerned. As for other, I felt Andy's questions were generally easy and good for learning the basic concepts, but Kim Heldman was tough and often caught me with details that I have skipped while reading the PMBOK.
I only took the first PM Study exam. Unlike others, I found it easier than the real exam (I scored in the low 80s.) But Oliver Lehmann was a tough nut. I scored in the mid to high 70s (don't remember the exact scores) when I first took his exams, both the 75 questions as well as 175 questions.
Also with a medium degree of difficulty was the HeadFirst exam; again, I scored in the low to mid 80s.
I memorized the ITTOs as well as the chart on page 43. I did write down the formulas on the scap paper, as well as the chart on page 43. But the calculations were mostly easy.
Arrived some 15 minutes early for the exam; completed everything in 2 hours and 45 minutes, took a few breaks. Few multi-paragraph questions. I found the professional responsibility questions tricky and in fact I scored low on them. One also needs to pay attention to detail: the "easy - straightforward" questions often involved some details of PMBOK that one may easily skip. But that's where Kim Heldman's questions came in handily.
Bottom line: a tough exam, but doable. One needs attention to details as well as both memorization and understanding.

Congratulations on your PMP.
Congratulations on your PMP. You study plan was optimum. I think one should stick to 1 or 2 genuine sources and not try to overdo things.
