Passed PMP - 9 Feb 2011

 Hi,

I have been a casual visitor to this forum though it helps me in many ways. I am happy to share with you that I have cleared PMP exam yesterday with below score.

Initiating - Proficient

Planning - Proficient

Executing - Proficient

Monitoring and Control - Proficient

Closing- Proficient

Professional and Social Responsibility - Moderately Proficient

Exam Preparation- Focus mainly on PMBOK and Rita, read both twice. During my second reading I ensure there should not be any gap. Pay utmost attention to make my concept clear while reading, also tried to simulate/think all the process in the industry.

Sample Test-End of chapter questions in Rita and Fast Track (process group + knowledge area)

ITTOS- Just high level overview haven't memorised end-to-end.

Exam Experience - Honestly speaking I was very frightened while realised people are studying many books and solving many test paper. This impression compel me to reschedule my exam on 7th Feb was about to reschedule  BUT my wife gave me courage go ahead nothing will happen.

Mostly Questions in the exam were situational based related to all the knowledge area. If your concept is very clear it would be easier.

Some questions (10) were very straight.

Only one question from Network Diagram, 3 questions from EVM.

ITTO questions were not straight, option were bit twisted not exactly same sentence from PMBOK.

I completed the paper in 2.30 hour took half and hour to review but no use haven't change a single option which i marked earlier.

My Advice: Exam is easy to crack provided your concept is very clear otherwise would be tough if most of the question were situational based. Would recommend Rita (I haven't studied other except PMBOK).

ps.A big thanks to my loving wife and daughter for all the support, I was virtually cut off from the world for 6 days.

 Thanks,

Santosh Singh, Singapore
