Passed PMP on 27-12 All Ps
Passed the PMP exam today with all areas proficent.
Thanks to my wife and kid. It was really difficult not to spend time with kid and study on weekends too. Thanks to all the people sharing the LLs.These have been a great help to keep the motivation levels up.
LLs.
1)Took classroom coaching in mar 12 .Could not prepare after that. From Aug onwards tried to get the materials and started reading Rita and PMBOKs.
2)After First reading, found RITA too elaborate. Did not refer that exect few areas like Humar resource Mgmt, comm management.
3)Booked date in mid Oct and started preparing for the exam. Weekdays 2 hrs and weekends 8-10 hrs.
4)Based preparation on PMBOK only.Took scordio tests.Very good quality tests.Make you understand that each line of PMBOK can be a question. Also answered questions from Rita 6th edition.
5)Was finding difficult in memorizing ITTOs. Took membership of Brainbok. The site is very good. The quizes and flashcards helped me get familiar with the ITTOS.
6)DeepFriedBrain site also good.Got lots of doubts clarified here.
6) Did not give a host of mock exams.I really felt some of the quality of the mock tests are not that good. Also, they do not help to improve your scores other than finding your weak areas. For that 2-3 tests are enough.
7)Gave PMStudy mock exam 1 one month before.scored 73%.Gave examcentral scored -82% and Headfirst around 86%.Gave PMStudyMock 5-6 days back.Scored 83%. This exam is real close. The difficult level is almost at par , if not PMP might be a little easier in some ares.
8)Noted my wealk areas and went back to PMBOk again.
9) The exam questions were mixed. But they came from each line of PMBOK.Exams on initiating, closing groups were very easy.Numericals came from cost and critcal path.Cost ones were real easy.Critical path ones were real tough ones.Had to mark them till the end. But was able to solve them in the end.Had not seen these type of question before.
10)Some questions from Monitoring and controling were little bit tricky.
11)3-4 questions came direct ITTO.Not worth memorizing. You should be able to get them.
12) Was expecting confusing questions from change control. But luckily, they were straightforward.
13)Situational questions 3-4 lines max came around 40%.Mostly about tools and techniques.Delphi Being the favourite.
14)All in all PMBOK with a few good quality mock test should be able to nail this exam. Each line of PMBOK is a potential question.Even the figures.
With Christmas gone preparing for this,Now I am going to have a blast on New year.Happy New year folks.
Would be glad to answer any questions.

Appreciate your guidance
Hi Amlan,
Congratulations!!!! Great Work.
I am PMP aspirant and have finally decided to take up this exam after 1 year of attending the training.
Self studying the PNBOK and may need various suggestions and guidance on how / what to study.
If your kind help is extended, it would really matter to me. Please let me know if so, please share your email id and no.
Current challenge: 1. make a realistic plan and follow the schedule.
2. Ways and means of revision.
3. Memorizing the terms, definitions, formulas and ITTO's.
Thanks in Advance!!
