Passed PMP !!!!
Hello All,
I Finally Passed PMP with 4P and 1BP. For a Working Mother with a Hyperactive Child, it was Great Relief to see Congratulations on the Screen. This was worth after the Hard Work.
For a Working Mother, Setting Planned Schedule time to Study did not work ( Believe Me...I Tried). So what i did was to use the available Time and do an Honest Preparation.
I Attended 35 Hours Training through my Organization, Read PMBok and Finally Rita. I Felt this was Quite Enough. If you are Person Practising PM in your Organization i think these 2 would be enough.
Since i had very less time for Preparation, i also did some Practical Analysis of what Processes in the Books are Followed in my Org, Customer Org and Took that as Example ( BEST Case) to understand and decide on Rights and the Wrongs. This was One of the Best things since the Real World Check did give me Clear Picture and Put things in Perspective.
I Attended Selective Tests ( Oliver Lehmann, PMTests and Christopher Scordo). Oliver Lehmann was the Breaking Point (72%), PM Tests - 82.29% and Scordo (82 - 90%)....Scordo was Easy but helped me boost my Confident..PM Tests this was a Refresher and Helped a Long way with the Results and Providing Information on where i need more Preparation..
Day before Exam, Just Relax. No Books, No Tests, No Reviewing Old Test Results. My Exam was at 4.30 P.M after Office Hours, so on the day of the Exam i just tried Recollecting Formulates, Process and ITTO ( What is Need for this Work, What can i Use to do the Work, What is that i Expect as Results). No Memorization of ITTO.
Went to the Center an Hour in Advance...Just in case...And Surprise i was allowed to Start Exam at 3.30 P.M itself....Though i was not quite Prepared, it was better than the wait time with nothing to do.
Exam, the 4 Hour Test was Gruelling but Fun ( You know what i mean...Fun in a Good Sense)...I Took almost 3.15 minutes to do first pass at all Questions. Marked around 30 Questions when i was doing First Pass. Use the Rest of the 45 MInutes for Reviewing Marked Question, and Re Reviewing all Answers. I was able to review only 97 Question when the You have run out of Time Message came. The Second Review was Very Useful. Few Question i had marked wrong on my First Pass, with all Question Completed the Second Pass gave me Chance to Rethink.
Finally, Result Time....I would have had Heart Attack in those Few Seconds....My 5 Weeks Preparation, Trying to Balance Kid/ Home/ Office and Study....Are either going to be Rewarded or Beaten up really bad....
The Message Congratulation, You passed the Exam!!! was Really the Brightest Light in the Room for me...
Thanks to all the PMZilla Members. I Ready all your Forums/ Posts/ Blogs and Used most of these are Input for Selecting my Study Material. I Could not find a Post for a Working Mom ...So the Big Long Post.....All the Best to all Future PMP Takers...
