Passed PMP 06/26/2013

 Hi All,

I passed PMP on 26thJune 2013. At the outset Thank you all for the valuable inputs & suggestions.

I have never been an active participant on this forum, it has been an amazing marathon PMP for me.

I decided to take on PMP 2 months ago since the PMBOK was changing & career pressure (for changing jobs).
Once my application was approved I took the date of my exam, it was not depended on my preparation level but on my sons school holidays start date :).

Preparation Material
PMBOK
Rita

One thing, I did not take any test until i got the hang of  PMBOK n Rita.
Once I read the chapter I  took direct questions test, all charts & processes untill i got it right and understood their application.
I felt to crack situational questions the understanding and application need to be through in your mind. Your thinking pattern will be set from here.

Tests Taken:

4 Full length Tests:

1. PMSTUDY Free Version --- The look n feel of the test was like this, but this is the one i do not think so.
2. Simplilearn
3. Rita (I took photocopy of the chapter end questions & made a full lenght Test)
4. Exam Central
5. All questions from headfirst (Direct ones are very good to understand whether you have all the materail inside your grey cells)

I am not providing you the percentage I have scored, you just need to improve.

I took the above test twice, first ones for understanding my preparation level  here the % mattered, second one to note if i got the hang of the wrong questions my thinking pattern.

PMP Exam Lessons Learnt:

I did not get any very lenghty questions. 80% situational, there were direct ITTO questions and also numerical calculations (easy ones just to apply formula).
These are scoring ones. Try not to get these ones wrong. Lot of the questions came from Risk,Procurement management & also organizational structure (for this read Headfirst).
I  memorized the ITTO but it depends on the time you get to prepare.
I felt time was sufficient to crack 200 questions in 240mins.

Thank you all once again. And Good Luck to all aspiring ones.

~Cheers

congrats... how did u calculate timings for each questionn ..... since u r saying its so more time as i had taken 50 questions per hour.......... so thr was no time answer my reviewd questions?............

Thanks.  I had kept separate 40mins aside, so now u have 200/200 1 min each for every questions. Direct questions will definitely take less than a min.

I tried to finish all my practice test in less than 3 hrs, since practice and real test is different. The environment & your heart pounding rate.

I marked my numericals & direct ITTO  for review. These I should not get wrong.

For situationals i did not kept it for revision, i did not hurry when I was marking my answer. I did not take a break to go out and relax, since the prometric center had a lot of rules sigin/out register and again checking your  ID. It would have costed me a lot of time. This one was a busy one too.

Calculate your time accordingly what you want to do in those 4 hrs.

 Congratulations on your PMP

This is the best forum for cracking PMP. The 30 tough questions were really amazing.
