Passed today at first try. Studied for 2 months.

My advise for anyone is to get Rita's Book the seventh edition. That was the only thing I read. I did not even read the PMBOK. I did not memorise any ITTO"S. Actually memorising ITTO's is a waste of brain matter. The PMBOK is too abstract...its a sleeping pill.

I read Ritas book about 10 times! Yes, 10 times! I took it apart word for word, paragraph for paragraph, did all the exercises. Its a recommended text for any PMP hopefuls. The exam was like the practise exam in Ritas book. I could not believe it! It was so cheaper than questions in Ritas Book.

I also took a lot of practise exams from exam central, headfirst, PM flashcards, pmstudy( paid for 1 test). I did a total of 9 tests.

Do lots of questions that are readily available online.

There were questions on team development ( norming, forming) etc, earned value questions( a bit different from the conventional questions online), quality and risk management, and questions on project scope, charter..etc

Most of the questions were situational so you would really have to apply some wisdom in answering them. Also READ and READ the questions very very carefully! Any one you dont know try and identify the process group and you would have at least 50% chance of answering the question correctly.

RESULT:

I was proficient in      Planning  and Executing process group

Average in                  Initiating and Closing

Below average in      Monitoring and Controlling

My advise? Read Ritas process chart to acquaint yourself with activities especially for the monitoring and controlling process group.

Phew, I need some rest now... its been a furious 3 days getting ready. Its time to celebrate!
