Passed the Exam Today! Hurray!
Thanks to everyone who posts and aswers on here. The knowledge discussion on this forum defintely helped me pass.
I received 5 proficients and 1 mostly proficient (in Initiating, of all things).
My tips:
1. Join PMI (You get a small net savings plus you get an e copy of PMBOK and access to a bunch of e-learning material).
2. Study the PMBOK.
3. Study a book (I used RITA)
4. Iterate 2-3
5. Take practice exams and sample tests.
6. Take lots of notes on what you got wrong and why. This helped burn it into my head.
7. Take more exams and sample tests.
8. Be able to replicate the Process Chart in the PMBOK by memory
9. Must know EVM and CPM - more questions on this than I thought.
10. Take more practice exams and sample tests.
11. Time your practices exams. Mine would typically take about 2.5 hours. The real exam took about 3.5 hours. It was no harder than PMStudy or Head First sample tests, it just took longer. These two exams in particular were good benchmarks. Shoot for 80%.
12. The other good source of questions was on the e-learning section of PMI website (Books 24x7 - PMP Exam Prep: Questions, Answers, and Explanations).
13. Aside from joining PMI, paying for the test and buying RITA, I didn't pay for anything else.
14. Best of luck to everyone and thanks again!
