I decided a month ago to pursue PMP. Application was approved when I heard about the test changes on 7/31. I attended a 4 day, 40 hour bootcamp last weekend. I used one of the free apps on iTunes to take a 100 question practice exam and then used my wrong answers to identify areas to read in the PMBOK. As the bootcamp gave a detailed review of each chapter and time was short, I never really read the actual PMBOK cover to cover. Decided 3 days ago to take the test today while the bootcamp info was fresh. Memorized the 42 processes, all the basic EV formulas...CV,SV, CPI, CPIc, SPI, EAC, ETC, VAC, TCPI. Many questions gave you 2 of the variables and you had to use the formulas to back out the desired value. Basic "solve for x" equations. The CPM diagrams were much simpler than I expected. I'm a native English speaker and I found many of the questions to be very ambiguous. It was expected but stil, this was my biggest challenge. They'd throw a fact in and it wasn't always clear which were relevant and which were trying to throw you off. Just don't expect it to be black and white. As expected, I could eliminate 2 choices almost immediately but the remaining two were just very close. If I went back and read the question a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) time, I could pick out a keyword or hint as to the answer. I did not memorize inputs or outputs and relied on common sense as someone on this board suggested but I believe I would have done better had I memorized the ITTO as well. Many questions dealt with how you would manage change and scope creep. Know what you would do when changes happen at various stages of the project or the proper thing to do when stakeholders try to throw in the kitchen sink. There were many EV questions but maybe only one threw me. Fortunately, I don't recall any "All of the Above" or options where you had to choose 2 of the 4 possible answers like my practice app exam did.
I flew through my app practice test so I took my time on the actual test. I was surprised when time started getting away from me quickly. I had planned 50 questions per hour and after hour 1, I was at #36. I had to speed it up at the end but I think that may have helped in a way because it gave me no time to 2nd guess myself. I had marked several for review but I ended up with only 2 minutes to spare at he end. I'm glad I entered a best guess answer for all the marked questions before marking them or I would have been in trouble. I did use the 15 minute orientation time to note all my formulas and the 42 processes. There is a lag time between when you complete the post test survey and when they tell you if you passed or not. My screen actually went white and for a moment, I panicked that my test did not transmit. Iwas afraid to look, but there was a congratulatory message and I read it a few ti es to make sure it wasn't a mistake. ;)

Congratulations ! You are a
Congratulations !
You are a native English speaker and still you were able to comple 36 question in 1st hour. That scares me. It seems that it is a trend now-a-days that the exam has very lengthy questions.
In my mocks I am just manage to complete in time. Mocks have very few lengthy questions. I am worried how I would manage in the real exam.
