Passed PMP Yesterday in First attempt..!

 Hi Guys,

I am happy to share that I have passed PMP in my first attempt with 3 Ps and 2 MPs...!

I have been studying for last 3-4 months as detailed below. I am at client site and have hyperactive kid at home. It was indeed touch to balanace family, regular work in office and PMP study. But guys, don;t give it up once you tae it into hands. Last one month I shifted my focus fully on Mock exams and filling knowledge gaps. I must mention that group discussion with one of my friend who also passed PMp recently, wa svery helpful. Also I wrote my own notes based on my understanding.

Study material,

1. Head First - First book that I read

2. PMBOK - a must and atleast 2 revisions are good

3. rita's book - 2 reads

4. Kim Heldam's Book - Good to understand processes in terms of process group. Simple wordings.

5. Abhishek's version of Rajesh Nair's notes(very useful)

6.Anil Tanguturi's notes(best source, compact to carry)

Mock Exams

1. Oliver lehamn  75 - 68%

2. Oliver lehamn 175 - 75%

3. Headfirst 200 - 90%

4. TechFaq360 - 85%

5. Ferndale's 230 - 70%

6. Tutorial point 200 - 85%

I would suggest to start with headfirst for mock exams. After every exam, filling your gaps for wrong answers is a MUST. That is probably the best way to go ahead. I would say not to give importance to the scores you are getting but to the new learning you got from those exams.

If possible get your PMP application done in advance. Mine was chosen for Adudit and i had lost 2 weeks of time due to it.

EXAM

Exam was definately not easy. Even simple looking quesions also had twist in them. But due the practice of mock exams, i think i could finish it off. Keep a watch at the clock. There might be some question which would trigger a deep though process and take unusual time. Mark such questions. I wa slow in first 50 questions but later took the pace. 10-15 direct question(you bet you don't want to miss them), 20-25 maths questions (most of them had some distracting information that you need to discard), many questions of Quality, HR and communications. You shoul dbe able to master these 3 chapters. Surprisngly, not much questions on Professional responsibilities.

Finished exam in 3.40 hrs. Spent remianing time on reviews. Skipped survey and submitted.

After 2 minutes, message appeared - "Congratulations...!!" felt relieved after seeing this message.

PMZILLA forum has contributed immensely in my success. Thanks a lot guys, you rock..!

I will be more than happy to share any LLs, study material and mock questions (I have lots of them)

Best Luck to all aspirants..! If you think ou can do it, you really can..!!!
