Passed PMP yesterday (Oct. 2, 2012) \ Tough LL -

Hello guys,

Am finally a PMP on my first attempt but it was a challenging one.
The PM-Simulator prepares you very well for the real thing and I used that alongside the PMStudy questions which matched the look and feel of the exam excellently. These two tools coupled with the Prepcast were good prep tools.

LL: With 200 questions in 4 hours (50 questions every hour which is approximately 1 min and 12 sec per questions), you have to be on top of your game to manage time per question. Eventhough I practiced so many simuation tests before the actual exam, I did not expect my first 10 questions to be formulae-based since 1 minute was not enough to finish each of these. After the first 5, I realised I was already behind on time, skipped the next 3 formulae-based and did the next two and moved on. By the time 1hr had passed, I was still on question 41... at that point, I knew I was racing against time from that very moment (and 3hrs to go!). Do NOT let this be your experience. If I wasnt well prepared for this exam, I could have failed right there because I got under intense pressure to catch up.

I eventually caught up with exactly 2 minutes left, went back to my 3 questions I had skipped in the beginning and ran through the calculations like a maDDog and had just 5 seconds on the clock before I got timed out. Again, avoid getting in this hole. Not good. Advise is - manage your formulae questions well, if you need to skip them initially, skip them and save them for later.

Materials Used: Rita (7th Edition), PMBoK Guide, PM Prepcast, PM Exam Simulator, PMStudy!
Focused Study Time: Last 2 months after scheduling the exam.

Best Wishes,
