Cleared PMP certification on 18th September
Preparation time: 3 months
I started with PMBOK guide and being a slow reader I took 40 days to complete the first pass. But i was able to grasp majority of the content during this time.
Then I took 100 quest (free test) from PMPForSure and scored 66% . Even though result came as Fail i didnt loose my motivation. I was happy that i could score 66% with One pass of reading.
Then i started with Rita 7th edition and was able to complete it in 20 days (What a Improvement :-)) . I took chapter end questions and was able to maintain the consistency of 70% in all the knowledge areas.
Then its time for my next assesment. i took PMStudy 200 questions (Free again) and scored 73% (Not Bad)
Second pass on PMBok and this time i took my own notes. I also felt exhausted because i completed this in 2 days with 12+ hrs of reading each day.
I was left with 20 days and decided to take practice question from available free resources . So during the course of 3 months i practiced 2000 + questions. I can say that my majority of learning happened here. my avg score was 75%.
Regarding ITTO. I created Pnemonics for Tools and Techniques but didnt memorize Input and Output. I tried to understand the relationship and succeded to some extent.
The biggest mistake i did was i didnt sleep properly night before the exam due to unnecessary stress and i was over reading. The output was horrible and as expected i lost concentration after 3rd hour. I some how motivated myself and tried to complete the exam. Because of this i took complete 4 hrs and didnt had time to review the question marked.
My result was Proficient in Execution and Monitoring & Controlling . Moderately proficient in Initiation, Planning and Closing.
